Lisa Popeil, MFA in Voice, has studied voice for 50 years and has taught professionally in all styles of singing for over 35 years. Based in Los Angeles, Lisa is the creator of the Voiceworks® Method, the Total Singer Workshop, and the Voiceworks® Associates Program. Lisa is a contributor on commercial vocal genres for the ‘Oxford Handbook of Singing’ and ‘Oxford Handbook of Music Education’. Has conducted voice research at international labs resulting in papers published in ‘Journal of Voice’, Logopedics-Phoniatrics-Vocology Journal and the NATS ‘Journal of Singing’ on the physiology and acoustics of classical and commercial styles, belting and absolute range in singers. A member of NATS, Ms. Popeil is also on the Advisory Board of the Voice Foundation, an invited member of BVA (British Voice Association) and Ibero-American Foundation of Speech and Singing, is a voting member of NARAS (N’tl Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences - Grammys), ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers) and a member of the union SAG-AFTRA. Ms. Popeil is a frequent presenter at international conferences such as Physiology and Acoustics of the Singing Voice (PAS), Pacific Voice & Speech Foundation (PVSF), Pan-European Voice Conferences (PEVOC), International Congress of Voice Teachers (ICVT) and the Voice Foundation. Instructional materials include the ‘Total Singer’ DVD, ’Daily Vocal Workout for Pop Singers CD and the co-authored book ‘Sing Anything: Mastering Vocal Styles’. She has recorded and performed opera, jazz, pop, rock, R&B, country, musical theater, Bulgarian and Bollywood. In addition to performing with Frank Zappa and ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, her 1984 self-titled album was a Billboard ‘Top Album Pick’. Lisa offers Skype lessons to a global clientele in styles as varied as classical, musical theater legit and belting, rock, pop, R&B, country and jazz. Parents accompanying minors who are attending can attend at no charge. Private lessons on Sunday, 11/2 will be invoiced separately from your registration fees once your registration is complete and only if you are offered a lesson spot. The fee for private lessons will be $75 (The lesson fee does not include auditing the Sunday lessons–sign up and pay for that session at the time of your registration if you wish to observe other lessons than your own.) All registration fees are nonrefundable.
